We're (finally) getting married!

David and Lauren first locked eyes across an intramural volleyball net. Lauren thought David was cute, and David thought Lauren was funny. A chance, fleeting encounter at a bar in Ann Arbor the following week sealed their mutual admiration for each other. David tried to ask Lauren out at the next volleyball game but didn't get the chance. So he did some investigating. He looked up her team's roster on the intramural website and looked her up on Facebook. Oh yeah, he slid into her DMs. Lauren agreed to a date (somehow!), and the rest is history...

Lauren and David's first date was at a cocktail bar called The Last Word in Ann Arbor. They shared great cocktails and even better conversation. After drinks they went for a romantic moonlit walk along the Huron river, where they shared their first kiss (and made plans for their second date!).

By September of 2019, David and Lauren both knew they were ready to commit to a lifetime together. In late September, they took a trip to California together and David knew the time was right to get down on one knee. David planned to propose at the top of a beautiful mountain in Yosemite National Park. As the hike began, Lauren had her suspicions that this might be the moment. Both David and Lauren were nervous and excited, but by the time they got to the top the only thing either of them felt was exhausted! That all changed when David brought out the ring and asked Lauren to share the rest of her life with him. Lauren's amazing friend Simone and her expert photographer friend Kwasi were kind enough to wait on top of the mountain for the big moment and take pictures. After the proposal, they surprised Lauren by popping out, and the group shared a bottle of champagne on top of the world.
