It all began in the summer of the year 2000, when we were just 13 and 14 years old, meeting at Columbus State Community College through the Upward Bound program—an experience that brought us together and changed our lives forever. Our connection was immediate, something special that we both recognized early on. At such a young age, we bonded over a shared love for music, movies, and most importantly, each other. Though we were just starting to figure out who we were, we knew that what we had was real, even if we couldn’t quite put it into words. As life often does, dreams of the big city and different paths led us in separate directions, but our love never truly faded. We stayed in touch over the years, and even when time and distance tried to create space, our bond remained intact. Then, March 8th 2024, everything changed. The question we are often asked is, "How did we rekindle our love?" The truth is, it all started with an Instagram post of Latavia, looking as stunning as ever, and David couldn’t help but say something sweet. That small gesture led to a simple chat, and what started as brief messages quickly turned into long conversations. Those messages turned into phone calls, and before we knew it, we were laughing and talking for hours. It was like time had never passed. We felt those same butterflies we once had, and the "I love you’s" flowed just as easily as they did when we were teenagers. We realized that our love had only grown stronger, and this time, we weren’t going to let anything stand in our way. So, we made a decision—a promise to each other that nothing would separate us again. And here we are today, on the road to saying "I do" on April 5th, 2025. From high school sweethearts to soulmates, we couldn’t be more excited to begin this next chapter of our love story. We are so grateful for the journey that brought us here and for the amazing friends and family who’ve supported us along the way. Our story is just getting started, and we can’t wait to celebrate this love that has stood the test of time.
