Kylie was in love with Dave for three years before they started dating. Even though she loved him, she would help him find a girlfriend. Dave never dated another girl despite Kylie's efforts to make him happy. This is when she realized she finally found a romantic partner she truly loved. When Kylie moved to Iowa City without him, she realized how sad she was that he was gone. In the summer of 2013 while on summer break Kylie asked Dave why he hadn't asked her out. He immediately told her yes and it turns out he had been waiting for Kylie to be his girlfriend for a long time. Kylie has boosted Dave's confidence, has educated him on a wide variety of topics, and pushes him to achieve anything he sets his mind to.
David Russell
Groom
Dave has been friends with Kylie for almost 11 years. We started dating five years into our friendship. Kylie is Dave's first serious girlfriend, and he is a wonderful father to Kylie's child Nickolas. All three of them feel like we finally have a family of our own choosing. Dave is currently attending the University of Iowa in pursuit of a degree and a career in graphic design. Despite his background, he has overcome the odds, and works diligently to not only support the family but to accomplish his dreams.
Sean Snodgrass
Groomsman
Sean has known us since we were in our very early twenties. Kylie used to have a lot of bonfires in her backyard when she was younger, and she always invited Sean and Dave. Kylie was always playing video games and Magic: The Gathering. She also has a fierce love for computers. Naturally, Sean became friends with Kylie through mutual interests as well as a thirst for adventure. Kylie tried to be Sean's wingman for years, but Kylie was too much of a tomboy to know a lot of girls. Thankfully, she knew Cheyenne and introduced him to her. Cheyenne, now his wife, is also attending the wedding as a bridesmaid with their two children.
Mary Bucklin
Maid of Honor
Mary is one of Kylie's fiercest friends. Mary is able to understand and laugh at even Kylie's darkest jokes. Mary met Kylie through Anime Iowa. When they met, they cosplayed characters their favorite characters from Final Fantasy 7. Kylie was Tifa and Mary was a phenomenal Aeris. Kylie is getting too old to cosplay Tifa, but she looks forward to other cosplays with Mary in the future. Mary also graduated from the University of Iowa the same year as Kylie. Kylie was a bridesmaid for Mary's wedding. While Mary was not originally Kylie's maid of honor, through her kindness, patience, and effort, she earned the highest honor on Kylie's happiest day. She, much like Dave, can muster a smile from Kylie when she is down. Mary is also a good influence when others try to lead her astray.
Cheyenne Snodgrass
Bridesmaid
I met Cheyenne through a mutual friend almost eight years ago. Dave and Kylie were there when Sean and Cheyenne started dating. Cheyenne is a motherly figure to everyone she knows. She has been there for Kylie when she was not so easy to be around. She expected nothing in return, and offered assistance and kindness. Kylie is absolutely thrilled she introduced Sean to such a wonderful woman, and her daughter was given the honor of flower girl.
Ben Rafter
Officiant
We have known and been good friends with Ben for almost eight years. We used to throw parties with him when we were in our early twenties, and there was never a boring night when we hung out with Ben. Kylie regards Ben as the ultimate nerd, and has only ever won a single game of Magic against Ben despite years of practice. Ben has seen Kylie and Dave grow and change over the years, but he never stopped being our friend. When Ben proclaims his loyalty, he means it. Ben saw us go from being best friends to dating, and instead of letting bitterness consume him like many did, he was finally happy Kylie and Dave found solace in one another. Ben was the first person Dave and Kylie told about our relationship. He encouraged us to pursue it further.
Barbara Moore
Mother of the Bride
Barbara Moore has been a very important part of Kylie's and Dave's lives. She has made Kylie the ambitious, stubborn, and accomplished person she is today, and she likes Dave's calm and quiet demeanor. When Barb met Dave, she was immediately terrified of him because he used to dress like The Crow. After some time she began to see how much Kylie's son, Nick, adored him, and how calming he was towards Kylie. She is happy Kylie and Dave are finally getting married. Kylie's mother, while often confused by Kylie herself, has always been there when it really counted. She is a mother every child needs, and Kylie cannot possibly express the amount of gratitude she feels towards her.
Aaron Spencer
Man of Honor
Aaron is a hard working family man who is extremely loyal to his family and loved ones. David was asked to be his best man for Aaron's wedding, so Dave returned the favor. Kylie and Nick are happy to be a part of Dave's family.
Emma Snodgrass
Flower Girl
Emma is the daughter of Kylie's bridesmaid and Dave's groomsman Sean and Cheyenne Snodgrass. Kylie and Dave were there when Sean and Cheyenne found each other, so having their little girl as the flower girl is a great blessing.
Nickolas Russell
Son of the Bride
Nickolas has always been the one guiding light that has kept Kylie in the right direction. Kylie owes everything she is to her son. Nick inspired Kylie to graduate from college with honors, and he pushes her to consistently to do the right thing. There is no person in this world that will ever come before Nick. Dave has always been Nick's father. Nick only goes by Dave's surname because even before Dave and Kylie dated, Dave was there for her child. Kylie fell in love with Dave through his sheer dedication to keep the two of them safe and happy. Nick walking Kylie down the aisle symbolizes Nick's acceptance and approval of Dave as the final member to complete our family. Without his approval, this wedding would not happen.
