Considered the unofficial “town square,” the Fairhope Municipal Pier is one of the most popular landmarks in the city. It is enjoyed by visitors and locals alike for its spectacular views of Mobile Bay, large walking space, sea life, bird watching and fishing. A trip to Fairhope just isn’t complete without at least one stroll down this scenic pier.
While we love a good ice cream cone from Mr. Gene’s Beans Ice Cream and Coffee Shop, this special blend of coffee, frozen yogurt, and whipped cream is a favorite treat among the local Fairhopers and perfect for any time of the day. For the perfect salty and sweet combination, grab a bag of specialty popcorn to go!
While shopping is prevalent along the main streets in downtown Fairhope, the French Quarter is its own private section. This beautiful courtyard features a lovely fountain, additional shopping, and the beloved sandwich shop Panini Pete’s. Grab a plate of beignets or the famous muffaletta sandwich, as found on the 100 Dishes to Eat in Alabama Before You Die list.
Don’t forget to take a picture at the iconic Fairhope clock located at the intersection of Fairhope Avenue and Section Street. In the heart of downtown, this famous spot is the perfect place to have your picture taken.
The Grand Hotel Resort and Spa is one of the oldest and most loved hotels in the area. Hotel reservations are not required to tour the property and it’s one of our favorite spots for strolling and a good meal. If you visit in the afternoon, you can join in on the daily cannon firing at 3:45 p.m. - followed by tea and cookies in the Grand Hall. Fun Fact: This is where David and Kaylee got engaged.
Located at the Fly Creek Marina on Mobile Bay, Sunset Pointe is the place to go if you are looking for delicious seafood, unique menu items, craft cocktails, and the best sunsets in town. One of the few restaurants with water views in Fairhope, Sunset Pointe is a local favorite!
Housed in a beautiful historic building in the heart of Downtown Fairhope, Tamara's offers casual fine dining in an elegant, Tuscan inspired atmosphere. From the grand dining room and classically handcrafted main bar, to the New Orleans style courtyard and artistically inspired "Bloody Mary" bar, each distinctive area of the restaurant offers something to suite every guest's desire.
Go ahead and ditch your heels and suit jacket at this watering hole! Bone and Barrel offers indoor and outdoor dining, with live music every Thursday and Friday night. On the menu you’ll find bar favorites like fried chicken sandwiches and sticky ribs. Fun Fact: Kaylee and David actually went on their second date here!
Prepare to have your taste buds rocked with fusion tacos, Asian bowls, unique tapas and handcrafted cocktails! Dragonfly is a great lunch spot. For spicy food fans, we recommend the firecracker shrimp and kung pao chicken tacos. If you’re hungry, make sure you get two or three!
Indulge… with your pick of more than a dozen chief specialty rolls & Japanese dishes! Master Joes is a smaller, chic venue in the heart of downtown Fairhope. The Bride never misses out on the cheese roll appetizer, when she visits.
Gambino’s is the second oldest restaurant in Fairhope (the first being Julwin’s) after opening in 1976. It has an extensive menu to choose from, including Italian classics and hand cut steaks. The restaurant is also right across the street from Mobile Bay. Make sure to check out the views from the bluff!
Looking for a cup of coffee or glass of wine? Provision has top notch baristas and wine connoisseurs to help. Not to mention, the venue is one of the most Instagramable spots in Fairhope, with eclectic art and stylish couches for lounging. The front part of the building also serves as a mini shop, with unique trinkets!
Located in the heart of historic Point Clear, Punta Clara Kitchen offers delicious treats for every taste. You can watch as candies and other specialties are made daily, while enjoying a sample of our most popular treats. We suggest the pralines and fudge!
(As long as it’s not too cold) Guests with a little extra time can enjoy this family friendly beach. The sandy, white shores of the gulf coast are about 45+ minutes from Fairhope.
