FAQs

Question

What is Black Tie?

Answer

Black-tie attire is a dress code reserved for formal evening events. Guests commonly choose floor-length gowns and suits or tuxedos when attending a black-tie event.

Question

Is the ceremony and reception at the same location?

Answer

We decided on two locations. St. James 1868 will be the ceremony, it's also the place where David proposed! The reception will be at The Gage.

Question

What will the weather be like this time of year?

Answer

It won't be fully chilly but for those not used to the midwest weather it may be chilly. I say 70 F/ 21 C is the average.

Question

What happens after the ceremony?

Answer

There will be a 4-5 hour gap after the ceremony. You can go to the the "things to do" section to find something to do while you wait for the reception! This could also be the time for you to check in to your hotel for those flying in Friday morning.

Question

Where should guests park? Is parking free?

Answer

I would HIGHLY recommend no one drive to the ceremony/reception. There is a parking structure near both but it is typically full since it is downtown. But you could have great luck and find parking easily! Just a recommendation ;)

Question

Are kids welcome?

Answer

Unfortunately the wedding is Adults only, 18+. If you are unable to make it because of this we totally understand and thank you for letting us know in advance!

Question

Can I bring a date?

Answer

Your individual invitation has the exact numbers of those invited!

Question

Do you have a hotel block for guests? Where do you recommend I stay?

Answer

We do not. There are so many cute/great hotels in the city! Please check the travel section!

Question

Answer

Answer
