Another Castle Princess and a built-in sister for life. Tessa was Julia’s roommate when she met her husband, and Julia proudly stood beside her as Maid of Honor. They’ve grown up side by side through job changes, boys, big prayers, and the Zook's Baby. Bonded by ding dong ditching and Tessa’s self-appointed role as Protein Police, Tessa’s one condition for David is simple: make sure you feed her.

What started as weekly babysitting with Nomi quickly became something far rarer. Kristen is a true friend and confidant. Wisdom, guidance, and steady love pour from the Thompsons, and Julia is endlessly grateful to be folded into their family. Traditions mean the world to her, so knowing she’ll always have a seat at the Super Bowl party table feels especially sweet. Pinky promise we’ll keep showing up and maybe one day the Miami Dolphins will finally win it all (shout out Toby for picking the right team).

For 24 years, Emily and Julia have been weaving in and out of each other’s lives, from playing dress-up and hosting elaborate fake weddings to standing side by side for the real one. There were school years that created distance and summers that stitched them right back together, but through every season, Emily’s friendship has remained steady when it mattered most. David, one gentle warning: the only thing that’s ever threatened this duo is Julia’s firm belief that every pillow in the house belongs to her.

Eric has been David's small group leader for the past few months, and has provided support to David and Julia as they step into life together. He is also a close friend, pickleball superior, and father of two.

The high school friendship that was both unexpected and life-changing. When Emily moved to town in her twenties, she probably didn’t expect a persistent sixteen-year-old to start showing up at 5 a.m. for Bible studies, but that’s exactly what happened. As Julia’s young life leader, Emily shared the Gospel with her and became a powerful catalyst for the faith Julia walks in today. This was discipleship at its finest. Julia followed Emily everywhere, learning how she carried the love and grace of Jesus into every room. It’s a legacy she now to passes on. Also, for the record, Emily is responsible for Julia’s lifelong addiction to coffee… and to Jesus.

Josh is Julia's brother, always the smarter sibling, and a certified professional at disc golf. Josh has grown close to David and the rest of the church family since moving to Phoenix in November.

Jay is Julia’s younger sister: tender, kind, and fiercely protective of the people she loves. She loves deeply and loyally, the kind of person who would drop everything to show up for her friends and family. Julia has watched the once-crazy three-year-old who could take on grown men transform into a woman whose strength is matched only by her heart. They don’t always see eye to eye, but the respect between them runs deep, and so does the love.

Otto quickly became a close friend of David since his recent conversion to Christianity, and they have enjoyed playing pickleball, pool, and growing in serving opportunities at the church.

Jen is Julia’s youngest sister, though somewhere along the way the roles quietly reversed. It went from Jen wanting to be just like her big sister to Jen offering the hair, makeup, and life advice like a seasoned pro. In high school, Jen became the kind of woman Julia secretly longed to be: confident, kind, and effortlessly herself. Watching her grow has been one of Julia’s greatest privileges.
