We met in a college science class, where our friendship quickly blossomed. Though Jessica turned down David's first date, life had other plans. After parting ways—him as an ecologist, she as a production manager—they reconnected during the pandemic shutdown. Visits to the Oregon Coast turned into dreams of a life together, and eventually, she moved to be with him.
