We first met on our very first day of college at Texas A&M University, united by the same scholarship that made us next-door neighbors. As fate would have it, we had every class together. From that moment, we became inseparable — studying side by side, biking across campus, working out, grabbing late-night meals, and going to tutoring together. On September 16, 2018, David asked Idayri to be his girlfriend, and our story officially began. Years later, after both being accepted to medical school in Houston, we continued our journey hand in hand through one of life’s most challenging adventures. On November 5, 2023, David brought Idayri back to Texas A&M, under the Century Tree — a place where legend says couples who walk beneath it remain together forever. There, he asked her to marry him. We are so excited to continue our love story in Dallas, surrounded by the people who have supported us every step of the way.
