Our story began with a swipe, and the rest is history! We met on Tinder, and our first date was at a Lebanese restaurant called Nuba, followed by a long nighttime walk home together across the Burrard Bridge in Vancouver. Just three weeks later, the COVID lockdown began. Instead of drifting apart, we chose to continue getting to know each other. We went on socially distanced dates in the park, called and texted each other about our days during the lockdown, and slowly built a deep love for one another in a time of uncertainty. While the world was on pause, our relationship grew. What was a time of distance for the majority, instead became a period of closeness, presence, and connection for us. With limited distractions, we found ourselves truly falling in love. Around six months into dating, David proposed the idea of moving to Montreal together. We were both individually ready for a new change in our lives and decided to say yes to the move! In June 2021, we packed everything we could fit into our car and drove across the country from Vancouver to start a completely new life together. Over the past six years, we’ve built a life filled with change, growth, and shared milestones—from moving cities and completing our Bachelor's and Master's degrees, to starting new careers, spending quality time and making memories with family, building community together, and celebrating David’s Canadian citizenship! Through it all, we’ve continued to choose each other day in and day out, growing together and supporting each other every step of the way. Nuestra historia comenzó con un “swipe”… ¡y el resto es historia! Nos conocimos en Tinder, y nuestra primera cita fue en un restaurante de libanés llamado Nuba, seguida de una larga caminata nocturna de regreso a casa juntos, cruzando el puente Burrard en Vancouver. Apenas tres semanas después, comenzó el confinamiento por COVID. En lugar de distanciarnos, decidimos seguir conociéndonos. Tuvimos citas con distanciamiento en el parque, hablábamos y nos escribíamos sobre nuestros días durante la cuarentena, y poco a poco fuimos construyendo un amor profundo en medio de la incertidumbre. Mientras el mundo estaba en pausa, nuestra relación crecía. Lo que para muchos fue un tiempo de distancia, para nosotros se convirtió en un periodo de cercanía, presencia y conexión. Con menos distracciones, nos encontramos enamorándonos de verdad. Alrededor de seis meses después de empezar a salir, David propuso la idea de mudarnos juntos a Montreal. Ambos estábamos listos para un cambio en nuestras vidas y decidimos decirle sí a esta nueva aventura. En junio de 2021, empacamos todo lo que cabía en nuestro carro y cruzamos el país desde Vancouver para comenzar una vida completamente nueva juntos. Durante los últimos seis años, hemos construido una vida llena de cambios, crecimiento y momentos importantes compartidos: desde mudarnos de ciudad y terminar nuestras licenciaturas y maestrías, hasta comenzar nuevas carreras, compartir tiempo de calidad y crear recuerdos con nuestras familias, construir comunidad juntos y celebrar la ciudadanía canadiense de David. A lo largo de todo, hemos seguido eligiéndonos día a día, creciendo juntos y apoyándonos en cada paso del camino.
