Explore ITALY!

When in Rome, if you want to explore more Italian landscape & major cities, we recommend taking direct flights to Milan & Venice. But if you want a closer trip, take a regional train to Florence for a taste of Tuscany or Naples for the nearby Amalfi Coast. Tip: We recommend traveling by Italo or Frecciarossa trains. Although Intercity regional trains may be cheaper, they are often delayed, make more stops, and are generally less comfortable.

Explore Calabria by car and schedule a rental car pickup via the following platforms: Bookings, Skyscanner, Alamo Tip: The majority of vehicles are manual. While automatic vehicles do exist, they come at a higher cost. Whatever you choose, please drive with extra caution when approaching narrow roads & tight turns. Tip: Before travel, it is recommended to obtain an International Driver's License available via providers like AAA. Tip: Many towns have parking meters, so please check for posted signs and pay where required to avoid fines.

There are no public transportation options at Lamezia Terme Airport. If you choose NOT to rent a car, please RSVP so we can estimate how many guests will need transportation from the airport to accommodations in Palermiti or nearby towns.

If you prefer to explore Calabria at your own pace, this option is for you. Please note that a rental car is required. Roads around Palermiti and nearby towns are narrow with tight turns so drive carefully and avoid late-night travel. Please see "Things to do in Calabria" page for more recommendations. Local Landscape

Palermiti and nearby towns such as Montepaone, Squillace, Stalettì, and Gasperina are more mountainous, with at times narrow, winding roads leading down to the beach towns of Soverato, Montepaone Lido, and Squillace Lido so it’s easy to satisfy both mountain and beach lovers!
