A unique love story set in the most unlikely of places; a pilgrimage. Two people reluctant to go on a journey that would permanently change their lives forever. Right off the bat, there was an instant compatibility and fondness. David and Gabi spent the next two weeks growing more tightly knit. Whether it was walking side by side, sitting next to each other, or constantly talking together, one thing was for sure: at the back of the trail, you would find Gabi and David holding hands and admiring the Spanish countryside. Late nights in a Spanish bar accompanied by other pilgrims David and Gabi always ended up chatting the night away. Until one evening in Pontevedra, Spain, alongside the riverwalk, a confession of love, and it was mutual. From a girl who hated romcoms growing up, she found herself in one. This twist of irony made it that much more delightful. As the Camino grew near to a bittersweet end all those miles walked together, David found himself in the city of Santiago while Gabi was with the rest of the group continuing the Camino. This separation did not last long because Gabi got on the morning train heading toward the city of Santiago to reunite with her love, David. They found themselves in the city of Santiago de Compostela; they strolled the entire city and ended up in the Cathedral of Santiago de Compostela. In this cathedral, they made a prayer intention; unbeknownst to them, they made the same intention. “Lord, please let this person have the same goals as me so that we may have a long-lasting and loving bond.” Upon returning to the States, David made it his mission to pursue this beautiful woman and keep the flame they both lit in Portugal burning.
