The first chapter of their story was so short. In the eighth grade, two young hearts, agreed to date. But less than a day later, she called it off. Life moved on, and so did they, at least for a while. 3 years later, in junior year of high school, they started talking again. But this time, something was different. What started as casual Fortnite gaming sessions turned into something deeper. It was clear that their connection was meant to be more than just a memory. And so, after betting with his friend to text their crushes, David bravely sent a "Hey." Since 2019, their conversation has not ended. It was 6 years ago when their story began. They became each other’s greatest support, pushing one another to become the best versions of themselves. But in 2021, their relationship took on an even deeper meaning. Up until then, she had never really known God. Faith wasn’t something she had grown up with, but life has a way of placing people exactly where they need to be. He, on the other hand, had always carried his faith quietly. He wanted to bring her into that part of his life, but he hesitated. What if she wasn’t ready? What if he wasn’t the right person to guide her? The thought of inviting her to church filled him with nerves, but deep down, he knew it was something that could change the course of their relationship. And so, he took a leap of faith. He brought her to church, unsure of what she would think. But something happened that day. Something beautiful. She listened, she learned, and most importantly, she felt. A spark ignited within her, and from that moment forward, she made the decision to follow Jesus. They were building a foundation, one that would stand strong no matter what life brought their way. Their love proves that some hearts are simply meant to find their way back to each other.
Youth convention 2021. Their first YC together. It was the convention that would change the course of their lives. The moment when Evelyn gave her life to Jesus, and David stood watching her praise the Lord in worship for the very first time. They were able to give God an experience, and realize their love will become stronger with God in the middle of it.
