Believe it or not, Eumie and David met in high school. Not only did they meet in high school, but they also dated! Their 2 week relationship was abruptly ended, by David, over the phone. As you could imagine, Eumie hated David for not only dumping her but doing so over the phone. That was the last time they spoke in high school. Fast forward 7 years to 2015, post-undergrad and well into the early stages of both their careers, Eumie relocated back to Chicago, from Washington D.C., for a new job. Meanwhile, David had also relocated back to Chicago, from Ohio to start a new job. Who would've thought their paths would cross again at Hebron Presbyterian Church. By then, David was re-attending his home church for a few months before Eumie decided to also attend Hebron. Word on the street was that Hebron was the church to be at, not only because the Lord was moving, but also because of all the single guys. All jokes aside, the moment David spotted Eumie walking into church service, he asked himself, "oh shoot, what is she doing here?!". Both had attended Hebron for 6 months, and even still did not say "hi" to one another. Eumie, while completely over the high school break-up, simply did not like David. As for David, he was a pansy, and didn't want to approach Eumie because he was afraid of the wrath held within. Then one day, Eumie had arrived to church before David. While Eumie was catching up with some other church members in the lobby, David walked in. She was put in the awkward situation of not wanting to say "hi" but also having to because there was just no way to avoid even a basic greeting. Eumie showed David so much grace by saying the one word David thought he would never hear, "hey." After finally mustering up the courage to greet each other, David developed the courage to message Eumie and ask her to dinner to catch up. Little did they know that dinner at Daruma would change their lives forever.
