This is how David proposed to me! I was so surprised! He and Dad pretended that David and some of my siblings needed to rehearse some hymns and it didn't seem weird that we were doing this at 11:45PM!
David and I have known each other since we were kids. When I was five years old, my family started attending Platte Canyon Community Church and my parents became fast friends with David’s parents. I was in Christmas Pageants with many of David’s younger siblings. I even had a crush on David from afar when I was a Senior in High School. We briefly attended the same college and when I saw him on campus, we would have great conversations. Once I started grad school in Boulder, I saw him and his family a lot less because my Dad had become the Pastor at Harris Park Bible Church. As a result, we didn’t really cross paths for about seven years. Last Fall, David started teaching classes for my mom and she noticed how David loved to talk about books and think deeply about things and so she tried to set us up. She gave me David’s number and David my number, but this was a very busy semester for me and I kept forgetting to reach out. In December, David called me and we had a wonderful conversation about books! We kept chatting and talking and then in January, we started a long distance Bible study together twice a week. We also started dating right around when we started this study, As we grew closer and the Bible study sessions grew longer, I realized that I love David because I could see how much he loved God, cherished me, and could readily join me on any contemplative pursuit! During the summer, we were able to have a lot of dates in person and then at the end of July, David proposed to me! I am so excited to spend the rest of my life with him!
