Bumble! Of course we met on the app that required Emily to speak first, she hasn't stopped talking about Dave since. Emily was coming from work (in scrubs obviously) and tried to meet Dave for their first date at Anthony's Coal Fired Pizza in Needham, close to Dave's ambulance base. As Emily swam across the street to go meet her date, she soon realized that the restaurant was closed due to a flash flood! In an attempt to go home and get warm, Emily asked Dave if it ok to reschedule. She never thought he would deny that request and say that he just fought a down tree on his street! Next thing you know, they thought of a good alternative and ventured to another Needham restaurant, only to realize that they grew up in two neighboring towns...five minutes away from each other. The rest is a blur.

It was April 14, 2023, Emily's thirtieth birthday, at the Spin Restaurant in the Seaport district of Boston. Dave told Emily to be ready for a fancy dinner at 7:00 in Boston. For those of you who don't know Emily, fancy and dinner don't go together. All of the bride and groom's families were in Boston getting ready for them to arrive. The stage was set, Emily and Dave arrived at the restaurant. As they turned the corner into the private room, there was 30 of their closest family members. The joy on Emily's face was that of a small child being told they're going to Disney World for the first time. But, this wasn't the only surprise of the night to be had. As the guests were eating, drinking, and mingling, Dave was pacing the room knowing what was to come. After years of many questions about an engagement ring from family and friends, it was time. Dave got up the courage and walked up to Emily. After getting down on one knee, he asked his beautiful girlfriend to take the next step and ask for her hand in marriage. Emily graciously accepted, (thank God), and the party continued throughout the night. We can't wait to celebrate our love with everyone, next October!
