We met in July of 2020 at Walmart in the automotive department. Ema was waiting for her interview to start when David and another coworker were playing with remote control cars in the shop nearby. We said hi to each other and talked for a minute until Ema was pulled for her interview. It was just as funny as it sounds. We thought nothing of the interaction at the time, but it clearly came of something.
A little while before the proposal planned, we were at Ema's mom's house talking about marriage and looking at rings. Ema found one she loved and sent it to David. He ordered it and had it sent to his mom's house so that Ema wouldn't find it in the mail. He had planned to propose on her birthday, but the ring hadn't shown up yet. We both had work that day and had to wake up very early in the morning. (Ema is not a morning person) She was just about ready to go, and David was in the kitchen full of nerves. Ema got done brushing her teeth and came around to grab breakfast when she was stopped by the sight of David on one knee with his phone in his hand with a picture of the ring. She cried and they laughed about the picture together. The answer was YES!
