(David’s Version) 12 years ago I met this coworker of my buddy. I found her to be very attractive! Now fast forward to 2018 she met me again. She says the first time but we all know that's a lie. Well during those first few years of being friends our friendship grew as we all pulled together as a family of friends. Until the day she agreed to go to dinner with me at jackstack. Pretty much we agreed no strings attached after we had our first dinner on Addisons day of birth. After that it's pretty much history we fooled ourselves and started to build a beautiful life together and haven't looked back. (Destinee’s Version) We knew each other for years prior to that first date. The day happened to be the day Addison Jean Deaton was born (we will never forget the date of our first date - also Patrick Mahomes' birthday). We went to Jack Stack for Dinner and both decided this was nothing serious. We wanted to take things slow and keep it casual. After dinner, we drove around, listened to music and just hung out until the early hours of the morning. We should have known at that moment that we had indeed, played ourselves. As many know, we go to Ely, Minnesota every year for our Deaton Family Vacation. There is a specific trail we do every year called Kawishiwi. The 2023 vacation was unlike our past years. It rained every single day. We were worried we were not going to be able to get out and hike our favorite trail. My Mom (Alicia) always goes but Dad (Chris) is not what you would call a "hiker". However, this year he decided to make the mile long trek out to see the waterfall. As we were standing at the top of the waterfall, David decided to take his chance and pop the question. It is unconfirmed if he was more afraid of me saying no or being pushed off the cliff. Mom was able to capture pictures of the whole thing. Of course, I said Yes (after a momentary shock) and was able to relish the special moment with my parents and daughter – Hayden. After 3 years together, we can’t wait to celebrate with all of you on October 19, 2024!
