As we both wondered if we’d ever find true love in our lives. Little did we know that through our mother’s daily prayers. Divine intervention was about to reveal to us both that true love was indeed a reality. Divine intervention interceded and brought us together through an online dating app with a simple “hi”. Our quest for true love was about to be fulfilled. Eight days after our first interaction, our first date was scheduled. We both recall being excited and nervous about meeting each other in person. We agreed to meet at the Musical Instrument Museum after church, I recall thanking God that morning for putting such a sweet person in my life and asking Him that our first date went well. God came through as our first date was magical from beginning to end. It was as if He had scripted it, play by play solidifying our true love for each other in our first kiss. We both felt like fireworks went off and Cupid pierced our hearts with his arrow as we embraced in that magical first kiss. It was right then and there we both knew we had found our true love and whom God created for one another.

After considering a couple options and discussing them with family members of both Debbie and my family. The plan was put in place to surprise Debbie with the proposal while high over the Arizona desert in a hot air ballon on New Year’s Eve 2023 to celebrate the new year with our engagement. On Debbie’s birthday I presented her with the gift of the hot air balloon ride over the Arizona desert, not knowing during this amazing adventure I had planned to propose. The days leading into the scheduled ballon ride I was filled with anxiety and nerves monitoring the weather to ensure the ride would go off as planned on New Year’s Eve. Once again our Lord came through and provided us with the most beautiful afternoon day that New Year’s Eve. As Debbie was filled with excitement over the experience of the hot air balloon ride, I was excited along with her knowing our engagement was about to be fulfilled. At the peak of the ballon ride, I looked into Debbie’s eyes and pulled out the ring and proposed, asking her to do me the honor of having me love her for the rest of her life. Surprised with excitement Debbie screamed, Yes! The experience went off without a hitch and ended with a catered affair and of course champagne to celebrate our happy occasion.
