Our Story

When You Know, You Know

Deanna's Version: We met in a way neither of us expected....on Facebook Dating. I wasn’t looking for anything and had already settled into a happy, content chapter of life. But one bored night of scrolling led me to David’s profile, and something about it immediately stood out. I loved everything he had to say… except for one small detail: he lived in Ohio, and I was in Indiana. Despite the distance (and my hesitation about online dating), I took a chance, and it’s one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. I made the first move by sending the first message, which David loved. Less than a week later, he drove from Ohio to Indianapolis just to spend an afternoon with me during one of my busiest work weeks....the US Nationals. It wasn’t really a “first date,” but he stayed all day, jumped right into my world, and by the end of it, asked me to be his girlfriend. Somehow, it felt completely right. There was never one big “aha” moment where everything suddenly clicked. Instead, it was all the little things that added up...the just-because gifts, the way we can be completely ourselves around each other, the way I feel whole when he’s near. David is patient, kind, creative, incredibly handy, and truly my best friend. He told me he loved me early on, and while I was cautious at first, he gave me the time and space I needed. About a month later, at a concert in Indy, I finally said it back, and we’ve been inseparable ever since. From day one, this has felt like home. We’re so excited to continue doing life together, laughing through the chaos, supporting each other through everything, and building a future side by side.
