Our story began in an International Trade economics class at the University of Florida. We both ended up in the same 1:00 PM lecture—David as a math and economics double major, and Davina as an accounting major with an economics minor (and neither of us morning people). Davina, a creature of habit, always sat in the same seat—until one day, someone beat her to it. She slid into the same row, leaving a single seat between us. Eventually, quick introductions turned into conversations, and conversations turned into long walks after class. (Davina wasn't actually heading in the same direction, but David didn't need to know that.) From then on, we sat next to each other in every class - this time, without the empty seat in between. We picked up our first tradition soon after. David invited Davina to Gumby’s Pizza for 99¢ pepperoni rolls one Wednesday night. Week after week, we didn’t miss a single Wednesday... until we finally swore off pepperoni rolls for good. While the pepperoni rolls didn’t last, our time together did. After many lectures and Gumby's nights, David finally asked Davina to be his girlfriend on November 1, 2021 (but that's a story for another day). On March 16, 2024, David got down on one knee during a sunrise at the beach, then surprised Davina with brunch surrounded by both of our families and best friends. It was the perfect beginning to this next chapter, and we’re so grateful to celebrate it with our loved ones! Love, David and Davina
