Dana & David met New Year’s Eve, the old school way. Dana was actually out with her friend Kandace that night and just got aquatinted with Chris from the neighborhood. Chris invited them to go along to his good friend ‘Shorty’s’ neighborhood. It’s funny when people don’t realize how little decisions have such big impacts on their lives.
It was our 6th Valentines together, the first being in 2013. He got me a little white bear that year with candy. I don’t usually expect things but I have to admit, I was a little disappointed when David picked me up from work and there were no roses to be seen. When we arrived home we finished preparing the ravioli, bread, and salad that was to go with the homemade Italian cream sauce and chicken I had going in the crockpot. In hindsight it makes sense to his excuses for stepping out to the truck, acting as if he was looking for something. I didn’t give it another thought either when David told me he was going to use the restroom, as I was busy finishing dinner. A few minutes later I hear him yelling for me from our bedroom, “Cheech! ... Cheech!” I remember marching in there wondering what he possibly needed. It’s funny looking back how I was acting inconvenienced by having to step away from the kitchen. I swung open the bedroom door, I was walking fast. I stopped in my tracks because I was not expecting him to be right there on one knee! He had roses laid out all over the floor, a box of candy, and was holding out the most beautiful custom ring to me! I started jumbling my words, putting together the last 30 minutes. He went through so much trouble to surprise me! My eyes must have been the size of saucers and I’m sure my jaw hit the floor. He even had to hush me a bit so he could get out that he loved me and asked me to marry him. It was the perfect intimate night. I’m so grateful we are here today and will be making it official. We can’t wait to see y’all at the wedding!
To everyone who has had an impact on our life and relationship, we want you to know how grateful we are to be surrounded by people like y’all. We appreciate the support everyone has given us, as individuals and as a couple. Each one of y’all hold a very special place in our hearts. Unfortunately we are having a small wedding, so not everyone was able to be invited. As for the ones that are, we can’t wait to spend one of the best nights of our lives celebrating with our closest family and friends! Thank y’all so much for being apart of this next chapter! We wouldn’t have made it here without the influence, love, and support from everyone.
