Question

How did you meet?

Answer

Dating during Covid was hard. We met in October 2021 on a dating app, just as people in our hometown of Raleigh, N.C. were starting to come out of their pandemic bubbles. On our first date at a local brewery, we covered the basics: David grew up in South Florida but lived in upstate New York. Bri was born in upstate New York but grew up in Pennsylvania. David knew the definition of a word Bri didn't. Concerning, because Bri isn't an athlete, so she had hoped to at least be the smart one. All in all it was a good night. A couple of beers and a mutual promise that we would never ask each other to go camping was enough to secure a second date. The rest is history.

Question

Why Scotland?

Answer

A Scottish honeymoon was the first decision we made after getting engaged. It’s been top of our travel 'bucket list.' David has always wanted to golf the championship courses there and Bri loves the outdoors and will hike in ANY weather for a good view. After months of stressing about a wedding venue and ultimately deciding a big, formal wedding wasn’t what we wanted, we thought, "Why not exchange our vows in the Highlands at the beginning of the trip?" We’re so excited for our little ceremony and promise to share photos in the Thank You cards!

Question

What is a "cookie table?"

Answer

The cookie table is a Western PA wedding tradition. Cookies are baked in advance by friends and family of the bride and groom and put out for the guests at the reception. No need for a cake ─ you won’t have room anyway. The best part is guests take home the leftovers. If you'd like to contribute a few dozen of your personal favorite cookies or an old family recipe, we'd love to include them. Please email Kathy Almasy at kalmasy99@gmail.com.

Question

What do I wear?

Answer

Men, think button-downs, collared shirts, polos, lightweight pants, or nice shorts. Sport jackets if you wish, but no ties. Ladies ─ sundresses, skirts, or lightweight trousers are great. If you prefer heels, we recommend a low, chunky heel or a wedge. We'll be in the backyard for most of the party.

Question

Are children invited?

Answer

We love your kids! But we want all our adult guests to take the night off to enjoy themselves, so we kindly request this be an adult-only celebration.
