Her Perspective: There are always three sides to a story—but in our case, there are at least ten! But for now, you’ll just get two… LOL. We met at church—Victory Tabernacle, to be exact—during a conference. I was minding my own business, coming in for a soundcheck before service, completely unaware that DJ had spotted me the moment I walked in. Apparently, something about me caught his attention, and from that second, he went full detective mode—asking around, gathering intel, and figuring out exactly who I was. Eventually, fate (and his persistence) gave us a chance to talk. But of course, I had to make him work for it—I needed to see if he was serious! Spoiler alert: he was. He stayed consistent, kept showing up, and little by little, he won me over. I had to admit—he had me. Since then, we’ve built something real—filled with love, laughter, and inside jokes that nobody else understands. We’ve tackled challenges, shared way too much food, and created memories that will last a lifetime. DJ is not just my soulmate but my best friend, and I couldn’t be happier that he chose to do life with me. His Perspective: I walked into Victory Tabernacle, and boom—there she was. Before I even knew her name, I knew she was different. The way she carried herself, the confidence, the glow—she looked like she floated in on a gospel soundtrack. I wanted to speak, but for the first time in my life, words failed me. So, like any responsible man with a crush, I did a little discreet searching. I asked around, nothing too crazy, and by the end of the night, I probably knew her whole family tree. When I finally got the chance to talk to her, it felt like that moment when you find your phone after thinking you lost it forever—pure relief. She was smart, funny, and had this way of making me forget anyone else existed. But listen… she did not make it easy. I had to prove myself. I had to show consistency, patience, and a level of commitment usually reserved for gym memberships and streaming service subscriptions. But I stayed the course, and here we are. I never thought God would allow me to love like this again, but He really outdid Himself with her. She is my answered prayer, my greatest blessing, and the only person who can get me to share my fries without hesitation. She’ll tell you I’m just excited for her to go through the struggle of changing all her legal documents, and okay… that is a little funny. But truthfully, I’m just honored she’s choosing to share my last name. And now, our forever (and her new driver’s license) begins.
