We're Getting Married!

It all began back in 2010 (hard to believe it has been 15 years already!) when our connection first formed while students at Canfield High School. Through choir, I became friends with Kyle Bassett, one of Dave’s close friends, and he suggested that Dave introduce himself to me. Eventually, Dave summoned the courage to message me on Facebook, and from that very first conversation, it was evident that we were meant to know each other in some capacity. We quickly became close friends, and not long after, I asked Dave to the Sweethearts dance. From then on, we spent much of our time together—often joined by my little sister, Heather—completely unaware that life had bigger plans for us. After high school, we headed off to different colleges but remained in close contact. Though Dave was interested in getting to know me further, he always respected my choices and provided genuine support. His kindness and patience revealed the depth of his character from the very beginning. Our paths crossed again when we both studied at Kent State University. At the time, we were both pursuing other people, but it gradually became clear that no one else quite fit the way we did. Before we even realized it, we had become each other's person. When we finally began dating, we kept it a secret for six months, convinced it would be fleeting and that we would return to just being friends. In hindsight, I remember my mom once saying, “He’s been there all along, right in front of you.” We came to recognize that we were always meant to be together. As it turns out, a quiet connection had evolved into something everlasting. That was just the beginning of our journey—and we’ve been inseparable ever since. Over the years, we have weathered life’s joys and challenges together—family illnesses, the pandemic, the loss of loved ones, and Dave’s demanding path to becoming a pharmacist. We became engaged in 2021, and now Dave has patiently waited for me to complete my journey through anesthesia school. With each obstacle and blessing, our love has only deepened. We are both passionate, dynamic individuals with unique interests and pursuits that continue to inspire growth in one another (Dave always says he’ll never be bored with me in his life!). But beyond that, our visions for the future have always been aligned, strengthening our connection and guiding us forward. We’re endlessly grateful for the winding path that brought us back to each other, and we cannot wait for all the adventures that lie ahead. Our story continues to unfold, and with the unwavering love and support of our cherished family and friends, we look forward to embracing all that the future holds—together.
