This is one of our favorite short hikes in the area. Located in Dutchess County, Ferncliff Forest offers stunning views of the Catskill Mountains and the Hudson River from the fire tower with a gentle 1.2 out an back or 2.2 mile loop hike. There is a $1.50 bridge toll and it is a 15 minute drive from Kingston.
Three miles outside of Kingston, this pretty preserve offers hiking, fishing, and a lovely accessible trail and picnic area.
Gorgeous views of the Catskill Mountains and the Ashokan Reservoir. The Ashokan Reservoir is one of NYC's main water sources. There is a wide, paved, and accessible path that follows the reservoir.
Pedal you and up to three of your friends per car on a super fun rail bike tour of the Catskills along the Ulster and Delaware Railroad line. Recommend that you book ahead of time as weekend time slots can fill up quickly.
