How We Met

First comes God, then Comes Marriage!

We officially met at church during one of our Friday Young Adult services. That specific Friday, our Young Adult Pastor asked for us to pray with those who were nearest to us. David and I happened to have been close to each other so we came together with one other person and we prayed. Once prayer time was over, our Pastor then asked that we say something uplifting to the person on our left. I (April) happened to have been directly to the left of David. When it came to David's turn to speak he turned to me and said "Your prayers are powerful and you remind me of the way my mom prays". Everyone in the room was like "awwwww" and then he said " And you had some nice Timberlands on the other day". I was completely embarrassed with his comment because everyone in the room was like "wow" "awwww" "uuuu" and then our Pastor said "And you'll be a good husband because you pay attention to details." Little did we know at that time that our Pastor had spoken life into our lives. A few years later and now we will be coming together as one.

The Proposal

Sep 29, 2020

On the afternoon of my birthday, David had planed a picnic for me. He took me to Mount Soledad and we had a cute picnic filled with laughter and good food. He then asked that take a walk and remember the time I had brought him to Mount Soledad after his mom passed away. We walked and talked about that day and what it meant to him. It was a windy day and I happened to be wearing a dress, so we found a place to sit. Out of the blue I was approached by someone who said "Hi, April!" I had no idea who it was until David mentioned his name and I remembered that Jose was David's sister's boyfriend. I reached out my hand to say "hello" but David asked me to give him a hug. So I gave him a hug and when I turned around David was down on one knee with the most beautiful ring in hand and tears in his eyes as he asked for my hand in marriage. Of course I SAID YES!!!

For all the days along the way
