We recommend flying into Slovenian Airport Jože Pučnik, which is only a 15-minute drive away from Castle Brdo. Alternatively, you can fly into neighboring airports and drive to the venue (Munich ~5h drive, Venice ~3h drive, Zagreb ~2h drive, Vienna ~4h drive).
We recommend international guests to stay at the Elegans Hotel Brdo, which is conveniently located in the same estate as the wedding venue. Rooms can be reserved by emailing "recepcija@brdo.si" with the subject "Anna&David Wedding".
The wedding ceremony will begin at 3 PM at Castle Brdo. We suggest arriving a bit earlier to settle in and find a good seat.
Dinner will be served ~6 PM (18:00) at Duck Island, which is a short 5-minute walk from Castle Brdo. Signs will be available to direct you to the location.
The dress code for the wedding is formal (avoid red or white). It might get hot in the summer with low probability of showers, so plan accordingly. Dinner venue and hotel are within walking distance, so you can change between the events.
Yes, we will provide 2 golf carts so you can drive around the estate. Don't count on them during rush hour as we will offer them first to the elderly and people in need.
Please inform us of any dietary restrictions or allergies as soon as possible. You can contact the wedding planner directly or mention your dietary needs during your RSVP.
Nothing official yet. We will keep you posted, golf is available at the estate so we will likely play a game or two.
Please refer to the contact information provided in your invitation for any immediate assistance or questions. Our wedding coordinator will also be available on-site throughout the event.
Renting a car at Slovenia's airports, like Ljubljana Jože Pučnik Airport, is convenient and safe. Roads are well-maintained and signage is clear. It's best to return the rental car at the same location to avoid extra fees. Ensure you're familiar with local driving laws and have the necessary documents ready. Important: If you are renting a car outside Slovenia, please be sure to stop at the first gas station upon entering Slovenia to buy a vignette (cars rented in Slovenia will have this already). Vignette is required when using the highway system. Alternatively, buy online using e-vignette via: www.si-vignette.com.
US, Canadian, Mexican citizens: A visa is not required for stays up to 90 days within a 180-day period for tourism, business, or transit purposes. Travelers should ensure they have a valid passport upon entry into the EU Schengen area, which includes Slovenia. Chinese citizens: A Schengen visa is needed to visit Slovenia. Visa to any other Schengen country is also accepted to enter Slovenia. If your application requires a guarantor letter, the hotel you stay at will be able to provide this upon your request. -> US based: we recommend you applying for a Slovenian visa through VFS Global (www.vfsglobal.com/Slovenia/USA/index.html). You will need to submit the application in person at 642 Harrison St, Suite 200, San Francisco. Please be sure this is the address for in-person submission, as another visa service agency shares a very similar name but provides much slower service. We recommend "Premium lounge" service at $55 which will help you skip the long queue in person. -> China based: please follow the instructions on VFS Global (www.vfsglobal.com). Please contact Anna if you have any questions or uncertainties about the visa.
