The Domain Austin
This shopping center has amazing shops, restaurants, bars and clubs, and let's not forget photo ops! Shop 'til you drop at some of my favorites, Zara, H&M and Macy's then get some lunch at The Culinary Dropout. https://www.culinarydropout.com/locations/austin-tx/
South Congress
Downtown strip with lots of food trucks, novelty shops and boutiques, as well as some of our famous murals! Check out the famous bat bridge at sunset and take a look at the Kendra Scott Flagship store where you can get some jewelry while sipping on a matcha latte or a Frose! and make sure to visit Allen's Boots where they make custom cowboy boots, hats, and jeans!
Blanton Museum of Art
This museum is known for its modern and contemporary American and Latin American works of art. It is also one of the largest university art museums in the U.S. and according to it's website, the museum features more than 4,000 paintings, prints, drawings, sculptures! Texas Capitol
Learn a little bit about Texas history at the state capitol! You can even stroll through and sit in the chambers of the Texas Legislature and of the Governor of Texas. This granite statehouse is recognized as one of the country's most distinguished state capitols!
Mount Bonnell
This is a great hiking and picnic spot that's been popular since the 1850's! It has amazing views looming almost 800 feet over the city skyline, Lake Austin and the Colorado River. We suggest going up there during sunset, it's beautiful! P.S. You might even be able to spot Matthew McConaughey's house from up there!
Lady Bird Lake Trail
This is a scenic trail on the Colorado River goes through lush green parks and a peaceful cooling pond. This 10 mile long trail is a great place to bike, hike and run with a fantastic view of Downtown Austin. This is an awesome way to clear your mind and to workout while in Austin.
Franklin Barbecue
Franklin's is known as one of the best barbecue spots in Austin and some would even claim it's the best spot in America! We suggest trying the brisket. The line does get pretty long so do prepare to go early! “It is the best. It is the finest brisket I’ve ever had.” – Anthony Bourdain
The Peached Tortilla
This fun restaurant has an extensive menu covering Tex Mex dishes, Southern food and Asian fusion! The Peached Tortilla is known for banh mi tacos, Chinese noddles and it's specialty whiskey menu.
North Italia
This restaurant is a modern and sophisticated Italian restaurant with inventive and delicious pasta and pizza dishes. Try David's favorite dish at North Italia - the Prosciutto Pizza adorned with mission fig, goat cheese, arugula, and prosciutto.
Better Half Coffee & Cocktails
This all day cafe has an amazing weekend brunch selection plus coffee, draft cocktails, wine, craft ciders & beer. Try the Chicken Biscuits and the Pink Sangria!
Juan in a Million
You can find a Texas sized Mexican breakfast and lunch here. If you go try to finish the Don Juan Taco. Some customers say that it is big enough to feed a family of four! This casual eatery serves traditional Mexican dishes as well as fun new Tex Mex fare on a budget.
Gourdough's Big. Fat. Donuts.
This donut shop has the tagline Big. Fat. Donuts for a reason! These donuts are so big you'll want to eat them with a fork and knife. They don't just serve donuts, they have cocktails and good ol' southern cuisine including a wide selection of doughnut burgers. Don't go a full stomach!
The Austin Winery
This is one of Austin's many urban wineries. According to the Winery they "create partnerships with small, family-owned vineyards across the country by contracting fruit from their vineyard" in order to create and allow for a unique experience in an approachable setting in the heart of Austin. While you're there make sure to check out Still Austin Whiskey Co a homegrown grain-to-glass distillery right next door!
Rainey Street
This strip is full of relaxed bar-goers hopping from bar to bar while also checking out cool new food trucks! Our favorite is Unbarlievable a circus-themed bar with creative cocktails and a slide! Be sure to also check out Half Step, Banger's, and The Parlor Room.
East 6th Street
Don't miss out on a fun night on 6th St! There's a reason they call it Dirty 6th; you can find dollar shots and other affordable drinks on this strip! Make sure to check out some Honky Tonks like The White Horse, and rooftop clubs like Summit Rooftop Lounge.
Lake Travis Viewing Deck
You can catch the most beautiful views of Lake Travis from this location. This area has become the "sunset capital of Texas." Don't forget to take loads of pictures! While you're there try some of Austin's best Vegan ice cream at Anti Social Ice Cream co. and get a speciality pint and fries at Oasis Texas Brewing Company.
