It was meant to be another Friday arrival for a 2-day baseball tournament in Canton OH. What the groom to be didn't know was that it was not actually a baseball tournament but a surprise 70th Birthday Celebration with the "baseball tournament" being a disguise to explain the enormous amount of people in from out of town. What the bride to be didn't know, was that she would meet the true love of her life and future Husband. The Groom remembers frantically trying to get to Canton to check in to the hotel and get over to a reception held by the family of the other team. "What?" he thought... when is it normal for the other team to hold a reception for our team? Something was up. The Bride remembers this strange single dad among all of the coupled parents walking straight toward her to find out more about who she was. Who is truly responsible for this union? The Baseball Team? The Coach who is brother of the bride to be? The family who orchestrated the event and was so welcoming the night before the game? The Mother of the Bride to be who's birthday was the real reason we were gathered? We believe that everyone had a hand in it and that the weekend that would ensue would change the course of our lives forever. Four months later the connection was not to be denied as a first date occurred at the beach in September. After five days, we parted and the Groom remembers saying: "Let this settle around in your heart for a few days, I will do the same and we can go from there". Parting was more difficult than anticipated and within 2 months, The Bride to be and her beagle became Ohio Residents. The rest is history.
