After a chance meeting online from different states, we finally met in Northfield, MN at a local restaurant, chaperoned by Addison's good friends Kortney and Colin. David had duck for the first time, which he will never order again, and Addison had lasagna, the better choice! Five-hour drives would soon become commonplace as we soon decided to "go steady"!
Told from the point of view of David: I prayed and prayed for God to send me a second doe deer to arrow and it just wasn't happening. That's how I decided to propose: a way that would encompass our love of the outdoors and mine of hunting. A doe that I had seen for days came by, afterwards I felt the rush of the harvest and the big hour to come! Then came the "help me!" call to Addison to see if she would come and help me drag this deer out of the woods. Knowing how important this was to me, she came to help. She walked through the snow, dirtying her boots to help me drag it out. After positioning it at the back of the truck, I went to the cab to "take my gloves off". I grabbed the ring, walked to the back of the truck where Addison was waiting for me, and I asked her if she could help me out with a few more deer in the future. She said "yes" to that, and that's when I went down on my knee and asked her to marry me. She said "Yes"!
