Lyndsay and I met through a meditation class with some mutual friends. I had been involved with this group for some time and she volunteered to help set up the chairs before other people arrived. We instantly had things in common as we just made small talk for a couple weeks. Once she said she was from Colorado and liked the outdoors I thought to invite her to a group hike with friends. I honestly assumed she was unavailable, but I didn't want to be creepy so I finally gave her my number. SHE TEXTED ME THAT NIGHT! We exchanged texts and began to get to know each other from there. Soon after she invited me to a "BBQ" with her classmates and friends. Out of nervous excitement I arrived early with far too many flavors of hummus. We ended up hanging out in the pool (where we currently live together) for a couple of hours. Thankfully, it worked out - we really hit it off and spent the time talking and getting to know each other. Her classmates eventually showed up and I left with a crush. To this day, she still teases me because it took roughly six months of dating before we actually went on a "group hike." Thank goodness for "group hikes," "BBQ's" and unintentional pick-up lines.
