It all happened very quickly. While David and Leslie have lived in the same small town for many years and traveled in the same circle of friends, their paths had never crossed. They first met when Leslie joined the Westmore Sanctuary Choir. David had been a member for many years, but Leslie was brand new and looking for new opportunities to meet people. David and Leslie were first introduced at a luncheon for the single adults in our choir. However, it wasn't until they were surprisingly seated next to one another at a rehearsal that a first date became a reality. Several dates later, David and Leslie knew they were meant to be husband and wife.
The special evening of the proposal began with a beautiful dinner on the beach with family members gathered round. David and Leslie will forever remember having the dinner interrupted by a dive-bombing seagull who desperately desired french fries. Following dinner and with the sun setting in the background, David dropped to one knee with the ring in hand and proposed to Leslie. During the proposal, David recited a poem he wrote especially for the event featuring details from his and Leslie's love story. A gorgeous Florida sunset capped off the magical evening.
David and Leslie's greatest and perhaps most essential commonality is their love for God. They believe wholeheartedly that each loves God more than anything else, and this passion is the cornerstone of their love for each other. David and Leslie believe worship is crucial in their lives, and they pledge to center their relationship on Christ. The couple first met in church choir doing what they love, worshipping their King.
