Our story began at the University of New Hampshire in the summer of 2017 (Go Wildcats!). We both had summer jobs in Durham, New Hampshire. Meeting for the first time through a mutual friend, we instantly formed a connection. Seeing eachother in passing through the night life at UNH, Belinda was first invited over to Dave's house for a house party. Belinda was instantly wooed by Dave's warm personality and ability to free style rap. A week later Dave took Belinda out on a special date in downtown Portsmouth, NH. There we sat out on the deck of the Oar House overlooking the harbor and enjoyed dinner and conversation. Afterward we found this small hole-in-the-wall bar playing live music. Without hesitation, Dave brought Belinda to the empty dance floor and they danced the rest of the night together as if they were the only two in the room.

On September 23rd, 2023 Dave, Belinda, and Lilly drove up to Maine to spend the weekend with her parents. After stopping by the house, they decided to take Lilly for a walk on the beach. Belinda thought nothing of it as it is something they love doing while in Wells, Maine. We got to Wells Beach and it was slightly overcast. Belinda's dad Joe loves to run with Lilly on the beach so he volunteered to take her down the beach. Meanwhile Dave asked Belinda to walk with him along the jetty. On the walk out, we passed one fisherman who Dave asked if he caught anything. He responded, "not yet". As we approached the end, Dave grabbed Belinda's hands and got down on one knee. Dave showed Belinda the ring and with the happiest of tears she fell in love and said yes! Belinda turned around to see her best friend and roommate from college Hannah standing there capturing the moment. As we walked back down the jetty to the beach where Belinda's parents and Lilly were we passed the fisherman one more time and he said, "Looks like you caught one" and Dave replied "yes I got a keeper". Dave then surprised Belinda with a beach picnic with champagne and her favorite pastries where they celebrated with her parents and friends, Hannah and Mat. He also surprised her with a dinner with his mom Sue and brother Cub to celebrate that night. It was the most beautiful and special day!
