Flight

Airports

1. Santa Barbara Airport- 30 minutes, small airport, $$ -Airport located 30 minutes from Santa Ynez/Solvang. Keep in mind, Uber/Lyft is hard to come by in this area. **This is a smaller airport, we recommend getting flights sooner versus later to avoid increased prices. 2. Burbank Airport- 2.5 hours, large airport, $ - If you want to fly into a larger airport from more flight selections, I highly recommend Burbank instead of LAX. Burbank if located on the north side of LA so you do not have to deal with the traffic driving through LA. - Approximately 2.5 hour drive 3. LAX- 3 hours, large airport, $ - This will be the largest airport likely with the most flight selections and cheapest flights though traffic through LA is very variable making the drive time difficult to predict - 3 hour drive WITHOUT traffic, can very easily become 4-5 hours if you travel during rush hour 4. San Luis Obispo (SBP)- 1 hour, small airport, $$ - 1 hour drive - Smaller airport north of Solvang, likely more expensive with less flight options. - However, if you are interested in making a trip out of the weekend, exploring San Luis Obispo before or after the wedding would be an amazing stop!

Navigating Santa Ynez and Solvang

Solvang and Santa Ynez are small towns so uber/lyft is hard to come by. Thankfully everything is walking distance within each town BUT one town is not walking distance to the other. Approximately 8 minute drive between the two locations. Solvang: Cute, touristy Danish town with plenty of shops, wine tasting rooms and restaurants to explore. This is a great location to stay as there are many hotel options in addition to what is listed. All the hotels are walking distance to the town. If you stay at any hotel in Solvang, you can walk to the shuttle pick up at Vinland Santa Ynez: Small, western town with mostly restaurants and coffee shops. Very "one-horse-town" vibe as there is only one main strip of shops/restaurants. Very fun saloon style bar in a barn at the end of the strip called Maverick's Saloon. Chumash Resort is located across the street and walking distance to the town. However, it is NOT walking distance to Solvang.
