The Wedding Website of David Lombroso and Rachel Sherman
Question

Where is the wedding?

Answer

Spillian! A historic property surrounded by lush greenery in Fleischmanns, NY: https://spillian.com

Question

Where is Fleischmanns?

Answer

The Catskills! About 2.5 hrs northwest of NYC, and about 35 minutes west of Woodstock.

Question

Where should I stay?

Answer

Check our travel page for more. If you want to have a look at what's available outside our recs, just be mindful that towns look closer than they actually are up there. Mountain towns! Lots of slow, windy roads. As a result, we'd recommend staying in either Fleischmanns, Pine Hill, or one of the other neighboring towns.

Question

Wait, Fleischmanns like the yeast?

Answer

Yes! The town was named for the Fleischmann family who made it their summer retreat in the late 1800s. Our venue, Spillian, is the last remaining house built by the Fleischmann family.

Question

Can we bring our kids?

Answer

We love your kids!! But no. The wedding reception is, alas, sans children. But if they are traveling with you, please feel free to bring them by in the daytime to see the house and explore the property!

Question

Can we hang out at the house?

Answer

Yes! Please! Spillian has a gorgeous mansion and stunning, sprawling property grounds. We'd love for all of our loved ones to take advantage of the space. We invite you to spend some time in the rocking chairs on the porch and disconnect from the world.

Question

What is the"Borscht Belt" and where can I read up on the history of the Catskills?

Answer

This is a great place to start! https://www.borschtbeltmuseum.org/history

Question

I would love to come but I'm not sure I can afford to right now.

Answer

We hear you. We have each been in this position many times and want to make sure anyone who wants to come is able to. New York is expensive! If it's a matter of finding a place to stay, please reach out and we'll find a couch for you to crash on. Together we can get creative!

Question

What does "dress like you mean it" actually *mean*?

Answer

Um, pretty straightforward here. Hehe. To put it simply, the dress code is cocktail attire. But wear the thing that makes you feel fabulous! Funky looks welcome and bolo ties very much encouraged. We're, half-jokingly/half-seriously, referring to the wedding as "Mamma Mia" in the Catskills (or at least Rachel is). So, make of that what you will! NYC meets Texas meets disco. Please keep in mind that everything will be outdoors, and we'll be dancing all night long. If you wear heels, you may want to wear a block or kitten heel. Or in the spirit of dress like you mean it, wear those stilettos and go barefoot to dance!

Question

Is there a playlist of songs that represent your relationship I can listen to to get hyped for the big weekend?

Answer

We're so glad you asked. Yes, yes there is. We put together a playlist of the songs we've sent each other over the past few years. Some are extra lovey dovey from our courtship, some are summer-worshipping bangers. Some just describe David (looking at you "The Boy From New York City"!). There's quite a range of genres.
