If you don't believe in love at first sight, then maybe you believe in love at first Facebook post (or maybe it was just Matt). Not too long after logging into Facebook one night, Matt came across a photo album. While scrolling through (in the most non-creepy fashion), he noticed a girl that stood out among the rest – her name was Davis. She went to Belmont. He went to Belmont. Fate? They "officially" met through mutual friends at a dance party December of 2012. A few awkward encounters later and a text message asking Davis to coffee, the two love birds found themselves at Frothy Monkey on the cold winter's night of Dec. 10, 2012. Every unbelievable expectation Matt had for the night was quickly extinguished when the two had a very normal first coffee date. Although Davis thought it went pretty okay, she realistically didn't see it going anywhere, seeing as they were both about to leave for Winter Break and wouldn't be able to communicate much. Thinking he blew it with an average date, Matt saw it as the first and last chance he'd ever get with her. Returning from the break, Davis just wanted them to be friends. However, over that year they were able to get to know each other (without expectation) and truly become best friends. Looking back, it was the best thing they could have done for their relationship. It wasn't until (almost) a year later Davis began developing feelings for Matt. In Matt’s head, any glimmer of hope was gone, so Davis had to prove to Matt she actually cared for him. Coming full circle to their first date, Matt was told through a text Davis had feelings for him (I swear this wasn't high school). And now the rest is history. Looking back 5 years later, they couldn't possibly imagine themselves with anyone else. They are so weird and quite possibly the only people in the world who understand each other. So cheers to awkward first dates and an even bigger cheers to Mark Zuckerberg for bringing them together in the most millennial way possible.
