Dave: It was Super Bowl Sunday 2016. If you know me you know that I feel like the Super Bowl should be recognized as a national holiday and I was ready to go! Unfortunately I had to work in the morning and early afternoon at Pour House. I was finally able to get off work at around 3:30. Sam and Brian came and met up with me and we went over to Vanguard to say Happy Birthday to our friend Sweat and watch the game. After that we headed over back to Pour House to call it a night and once we walked in I saw this pretty girl just dancing by herself. Now I may have thrown a few back that evening so I started to dance and I don't dance at all, or very well. As I was dancing with her I got to notice that she danced like there wasn’t a problem in the world and this piqued my interest. After we got done shaking our booty’s we started talking and I realized she was hanging out with an old friend. After awhile the group decided to go to the Zebra Club to continue the festivities of the evening. When we get there I asked her to put her number in my phone. As she is attempting to punch the buttons for her number, she drops and breaks my phone. The thing she did not realize at the time was that my phone was already broken and I proceeded to give her a hard time for dropping and breaking it. The next morning I woke up and I'm not what you would be calling chipper. As I get my life together I think about this girl I met. I decided to reach out to her and see if she would like to meet up. She responded quickly, maybe too quickly, and we set it up. She met me at Pour House while I was finishing up my shift and we had a couple drinks and talked the whole night. The next morning we went to lunch and that was the beginning of the end of our lives as single adults, but I am excited to continue this journey with her and couldn’t ask for a better woman.
Pam: In 2016 on Super Bowl Sunday I decided to go out for drinks with friends after work. I walked into Pour House showing off my sick dance moves and immediately made eye contact with a handsome, blue eyed, ginger across the room. As if it were out of movie, he strut over to me and began to show me his sweet dance moves. We decided to head to Zebra Club down the street. That’s where he asked me for my number, in my altered state I dropped his phone and broke it. Little did I know his phone was already broken, this was just the peek into his sarcastic nature. The next day I patiently awaited his text, but y’all know patience is not my forte. So I texted our mutual friend and asked her to reach out to him for me. Later on in the day I received a text from him asking to hang out that night. So that same evening we met up at Pourhouse, where he worked and where we had our original meet cute. We shared drinks and laughed and decided we wanted more of a divey vibe so we headed to Zebra Club. We shared our first kiss on our way there, stayed up all night talking and went to lunch the next day. About six months later I moved in with him, a year later we got our dog Doobie and about another year and half later we got engaged. So here we are almost 6 years later. I’m so thankful for all the memories we’ve made together and the experiences we’ve shared. I cannot imagine my world without him and I’m excited to spend the rest of my life by his side as his wife and officially become an Abrahamsen.
