In July 2018, Dave was living in Jersey City and Meg in Hoboken. Both were aimlessly scrolling through a dating app. Meg came across Dave's profile full of pictures of himself with friends, references to his love of music (particularly mentioned Celine Dion), and The Office quotes. Dave came across Meg's profile full of a list of places she would like to visit, favorite foods, and a mention of her favorite sitcom- Friends. They both "liked" each other and therefore... it was a match. But who would make the first move and say something? Meg would. She crafted up a very unique and catching first line- "hey, how are you?" ... and that's all it took.
After speaking online for about a week, Dave and Meg decided to meet in real life. They decided it only made sense to have the first date that reflected their German roots, the Pilsner Hause in Hoboken. Besides, there's nothing more romantic than drinking pints of beer while eating saurkraut and pork. While they were each on their way, they both texted each other that they were running late ( Meg by design, but as for Dave.. not so much). Little did they know they would end up arriving at the exact same time. Could this be fate? One beer turned into two, and two eventually turned to four, as they were seamlessly going from topic to topic over what felt like the fastest four hours of their lives. It was obvious that what started as a "match" was well on it's way to being a fit.
