Both being new Houston transplants, David and I met through Bumble. For whatever reason, I swiped right on David's profile with one picture and absolutely no other information. We went on our first date, started a friendship and that quickly transitioned into a romantic relationship. After a year together, we moved into a cute bungalow in the Houston Heights. Three weeks later the pandemic happened..... and we quickly had to test how much we truly liked each other. Our relationship strengthened and through a new job for myself we were able to move back to my NOLA!

It was the 1st day of our Mardi Gras holiday and we had plans to go see Muses with some friends that were in town. Before getting ready, we decided to take the dogs to the Tree of Life where we used to go when we first moved to NOLA. It was a gorgeous day to play frisbee with the dogs. Dave gave me a gift for Mardi Gras which was a Muses shoe which I've always wanted. The shoe had the lyrics to our song, Beyond by Leon Bridges, on it. It was at this point that Dave got on one knee and asked me to spend the rest of my life with him. I immediately said YES! We went home to get ready for the parade to celebrate and I was surprised with my family with champagne!
