The initial plan is to all meet at Lauma's parent's house in Riga once you've arrived. Lauma and Dave will already be in Latvia so will greet you either at the airport or the house. From there we can consolidate cars and head to Birini Palace.
For the ceremony, the dress code is smart, but please wear whatever you feel comfortable in. Plan for the weather being hot. For the rest of the trip, bring outdoor summer clothes and swimwear. Crocs are useful by the water. It is a good idea to have some warm clothes for the evenings as well.
Latvian food is delicious! It often features hearty, rustic dishes with emphasis on pork, potatoes, dairy, and fresh fruit and vegetables. Fish from the Baltic Sea are also important protein sources. Key ingredients include rye bread, dairy products, and local forest products like berries, mushrooms, and honey. The wedding menu itself will be released closer to the date. There are plenty of shops and markets to pick up snacks along the way.

What ever you want! The plan is to travel to Staicele on the morning of the 8th after breakfast. We have provided a list of suggestions of places to visit en route and while we are there, but there is plenty to see and do. Lauma and Dave will be in Staicele up until 13th of August, and you are welcome to join!
