Edinburgh has a good international airport and is served by all of the major airlines which offer either direct routes or 1 stop routes via London, Dublin, Amsterdam or Paris. Of the traditional airlines American (code share with British Airways, Finnair and Iberia), United (codeshare with Lufthansa), Delta (codeshare with Virgin) offer direct routes from either JFK or Newark. The budget airline Norwegian also offers a no frills service from New York Stewart airport. · London has a number of cheap or reasonable direct services from JFK and Newark and there are loads (53 a day) of cost effective connecting flights to Edinburgh. · Glasgow is Scotland's second city and also has an international airport. It can offer some good deals on direct flights to JFK and Newark. It is around an hour's drive from Edinburgh or 45 minutes on the train from the city centre (although note the airport is a little outside Glasgow).
