Matron of Honor
Elise and Hannah have been best friends since age four. Highlights over the years include their shared love for Jersey Shore, Mean Girls, Friday pizza nights, rollerblading, driving aimlessly around Grand Haven, and losing most tennis matches.
Bridesmaid
Maggie is Elise’s eldest sister. She is known to uphold many honorable characteristics that Elise lacks and is admired by all. Maggie is well rounded with homesteader and medical knowledge, musically inclined, and a top tier mom.
Bridesmaid
Katie is known to Elise by many titles—teacher, matriarch, wine connoisseur, super mom, and, most importantly, friend. Fun fact: Katie once led a near-impossible river rescue of Dave and Elise when they overshot their pickup spot kayaking and were headed downstream towards a storm (Elise is to blame).
Bridesmaid
Claire and Elise became quick friends through Elise’s pseudo family (the Koopmans). Claire is a boss babe in every aspect of life and has become a critical advisor for Elise’s wedding planning. If you see Elise and Claire together, test their audio knowledge and ask about their dogs.
Bridesmaid
Emily and Elise’s friendship is grounded in their shared love of craft cocktails, music (Arianna Grande tops the charts), and reality tv shows. Emily is a trendy Chicagoan, compassionate social worker, and loyal friend. (Credit: Emily allowed Elise to try on her engagement ring, which provided inspiration and sizing for Dave’s 10/10 ring selection).
Bridesmaid
If you meet Emily for the first time, her angelic demeanor may leave you wondering if she’s real… she is! Emily and Elise share 12+ years of fond memories and often reminisce about their questionable fashion, hair, and makeup trends over the years.
Bridesmaid
Beauty and brains—Reilly was an easy addition to the wedding party. Although Dave has been friends with her longer, we’re all confident Elise is preferred over him now. If you see her at the bar, ask her about her memorable tequila chaser in 2016.
Co-Best Man
Wes and Dave bonded over Malcom in the Middle during 7th grade advanced math class. I guess that's all it takes these days. If you get the chance, ask Wes to show you his magic trick—you will have to provide the Klondike bar. SPOILER ALERT: you are not getting it back.
Co-Best Man
Josh and Dave were long-lost machine pitch teammates reunited by a shared love of bowling, golf, speakers, and beer. Dave would not be where he is today if he didn't have Josh to copy—I mean follow—when he wasn't quite sure which direction to take in life.
Groomsman
Jeremy resented Dave for replacing him in the friend group when he moved to Grand Haven after the 7th grade. Several years later at Grand Valley, Jeremy would come to realize Dave was the piece to the friendship puzzle that he didn't know was missing. Well, maybe Dave was more like the puzzle piece that sort of fit, so they just jammed it in there.
Groomsman
Jake is, to Dave's knowledge, the only person on Earth who has dunked a basketball, swung a golf club, and fired up a steam engine all in the same day.
Groomsman
One might say that Hunter moving down the street from Dave in 7th grade was kismet; one would be correct. There have been parallels drawn between Hunter and a golden retriever not only for his golden locks and happy-go-lucky nature but for his unwavering loyalty.
Groomsman
Neighbors since birth, Dom and Dave became friends because of proximity. While there was a close call when Dave wasn't happy about Dom beating him in a game of Mario Strikers, that friendship would prove to stand the test of time and distance. If you run into Dom during the wedding-day festivities, please ask him about the time he beat One by Metallica on expert mode in Guitar Hero III.
Groomsman
The only non-Masonite to make the starting lineup, Jon met Dave while climbing the ranks at Steelcase and maintains that he thought Dave hated him when they first met. Jon has since learned to not take Dave's unenthused demeanor personally.
Honorary Bridesmaid
Kelsey is Elise’s adventurous expat sister who lives in India. The stars aligned, and the pregnancy of her third child brought her back stateside for the wedding.
