In the summer of 2016, Dave and Amanda were both invited on an annual group trip to Florida to enjoy some sunshine at our mutual bestie Cliff's vacation home. Dave and Cliff had been friends for decades, while Amanda became friends with him during her law school years. Amanda, living the "no new friends" vibe of 2016, was skeptical about the "new guy" Dave who lived in Hoboken. However, there was something in that Florida sun and salty air that quickly let Amanda know that Dave was no third string. Dave quickly realized that "This Can't be Summer Love" after meeting Amanda. She flipped the switch from power suit to bathing suit; Dave put on the full court press. When the two parted ways at the end of the trip, they couldn't stop thinking about one another and made plans to visit each other. Shortly after returning home from the trip, Dave visited Pittsburgh over the Fourth of July where he met Amanda's ENTIRE family. He quickly won their hearts with his Justin Timberlake impressions and penny-poker skills, and ultimately Amanda's when he asked her to be his girlfriend.
