How it ALL started..

Roughly ten years ago, it all started with a classic game of beer pong with their rowdy group of friends which they still are close with today. This lead to many nights of laughter, teasing, constant summer nights of cruising the county roads blaring George Straight, Garth Brooks, Chris LeDoux, Brooks & Dunn and countless other artists - sitting on the tailgate, bonfires, driving through pastures, riding in tractors - typical small town living things. They both grew up a little and ventured separate ways. Dating other people off and on. But they always seemed to find each other; however, the timing never seemed right. Sam eventually took her first adult job in Radiology and moved away to Cheyenne, WY for a couple years while Kyle worked on the family farm and ranch in Alliance, NE. Sam thought the bigger town life was for her and never dreamed she would move back home. Little did she know... Sam decided the small town life wasn't so bad after a pretty rough break up and Kyle went through one as well. Finally, Kyle made a move and started talking to Sam again a year later. Looking back, they wouldn't have it any other way with their two doggies: Sadie (meatloaf) and Ellie (Satan or Bat Dog), Kyle’s horse Blackjack (aka “Jackass” because he likes to buck Kyle off multiple times!), and the barn cats: Ollie and Oaklee (to kill all the mice of course!). They love country living! You can find Kyle in the combine with Sam working along side in the grain cart in the fall, both of them working cows in the winter, calving in the spring as well as Kyle planting and Sam working farm ground and then they enjoy their summers camping or on the lake with the pontoon and jet skis! If you haven't seen all of the posts Sam makes of her pet cows in the herd, you're definitely missing out! They can't wait to keep making more memories with each other working on the farm/ranch, being with friends and family, and to enjoy this special day with everyone who means so much to them!

The Proposal

6-29-19

If you know anything about Sam, you know she's SUPER impatient. So it comes as no surprise that she had been asking Kyle for the last year if he was ever going to propose. (I mean, they had been off and on together for ten years and dating for three!). At this point in time, she had come to terms that it was never going to happen and she was just going to to be a dog/cow mom, girlfriend the rest of her life and she was fine with that. They were heading to Lake Angostura for the weekend with a couple of friends to camp. Sam was waiting for Kyle to get ready, he was running late like normal. But she was unaware at this point that he had asked Kurt and Helen for their permission to marry Sam and that's why he was so late! All Sam was concerned about was getting to the lake! The next day, anything that could go wrong DID go wrong. Our friend Scott's boat broke down, Heather (Sam's sister) and Sam ran out of gas in the jet ski across the lake, it was so windy and the waves were HUGE that no one could just lay and float in the water. Sam also had this huge 6'x8' eagle floatie named Gary and he ended up getting a huge hole and deflating. They all decided to call it a day and head back to the camper - sunburnt, hangry and ready for a shower. After everyone ate at a little dive pizza place, Kyle asked Sam to walk the dogs down to the water and throw some sticks. When she was throwing the sticks, she turned around and Kyle was on one knee! She was in so much shock she kept asking, "What are you doing?!" He asked, "Well, are you going to marry me?" Obviously, she said, "I didn't think you were ever going to ask! Yes!". And then Ellie and Sadie shook all the water off on him, naturally!
