The origins of the Pittsburgh Cookie Table are often debated, but it certainly grew in popularity during the Great Depression. Couples simply couldn't afford a wedding cake and so their close friends and family would bake cookies instead, using favorite family recipes. 

Today the Pittsburgh Cookie Table is such a strong tradition that the wedding day just wouldn't be complete without it!
