We're Getting Married

Dorian and Daryllyn met at their mutual friend, Jenna's, Sunday Brunch. Daryllyn arrived to the brunch with her brother Derick and his then fiancé, Yecenia Harris, after church. She walked into the room and immediately felt the warmth of the environment. There was great food, laughter, discussion of politics, and Brown and Black folks everywhere. Daryllyn introduced herself to everyone in the room, including Dorian, but had no idea that a brief introduction to a tall, ginger, freckled man would soon change her life forever. Dorian came to the brunch with his best friend Keith Blocker and his wife, Christina Blocker. Dorian was already present when Daryllyn arrived. He noticed her right away and couldn't take his eyes off of her. Eventually he found the courage to initiate a conversation with Daryllyn. He was amazed by her intelligence, beauty, and self-awareness. While Dorian was talking to Daryllyn he realized he didn't want to mess up the opportunity to get to know her more, so he called over his wingman, Keith, to join the conversation. Throughout the brunch they talked about family, school, aspirations, his resemblance to her brothers, her smile, and everything else under the sun. The afternoon was so perfect that a few close friends stayed as the bunch ended and transitioned to a dinner party. They sat on the deck enjoying the view with great friends for several more hours and eventually exchanged numbers. They had their first date two weeks later and the rest is history! #2Become1Waller

Dorian knew he wanted to ask Daryllyn to be his wife a few weeks into dating her. He began designing an engagement ring for her 5 months in advance. He knew the look she loved and he wanted to design a ring just for her. Once the ring design was sent to be made, Dorian arranged for his parents, Daryllyn's family, and their close friends to meet at Chamber's Bay Golf Course for dinner. As the evening unfolded and the spring rains came and went, Dorian coordinated with the secret photographer to capture the moment he proposed. He asked Daryllyn to join him outside. He got on one knee in front of their guests and proposed as the sun was setting!
