Like strangers in the night, it began on a Sunday at the bird...for those of you just tuning in, Pelican Harry's. Sarah and Daryl became friends over 15 years ago but this one evening was different. Daryl had stepped into the establishment waiting for a friend to join him, and Sarah had just finished her shift. Daryl and Sarah exchanged a hello and Sarah was invited to have a drink with Daryl. She obliged, and the night took off! Laughter, smiles, and a few cocktails took the night into invitations for another. From those nights sprung conversations going over a few days to a handful of first dates...Sarah & Daryl embarked on what we now know as their relationship.

The proposal was a special one in that even Daryl didn't know he was going to do it on that day until that evening. Advice given by one of Daryl's uncles on the trip was that he'd know when the moment was right and to keep it simple. Daryl & Sarah got ready for what Sarah thought was a simple anniversary dinner at Ruth Chris' Steakhouse. During dinner, Daryl and Sarah exchanged conversation over how time had flown by and various other memories. After the meal was completed, Daryl asked Sarah to close her eyes and if she wanted to play a game. (This was standard from Daryl as he loved to play games with Sarah) She said yes, and he told her close her eyes and open her hands. One by one, Daryl placed various objects in her hands until he placed a ring box in her hand and she could not identify it. At that moment he told her open her eyes and professed his love and asked her to marry him. She was overly excited and said YES!
