Long story short .... We met organically through our mutual friend, Chris Nguyen. Mindy and Chris are long time college friends who happened to move to Chicago around the same time that Daryl moved back the city. Daryl and Chris met through Subtle Asian Chicago (SAC) and were going to many outings together (which many of you were a part of!). Mindy and Chris were hanging out with college friends when we decided to meet up with Daryl and the SAC friends one night. Chris introduced Daryl and Mindy as people who played tennis and had ENFJ personality types. (Lo-behold Mindy retook the test during residency and is now ESFJ but same difference...) After that, we hit it off and decided to make our first date a trip to Walmart since Mindy had a homework assignment to shop for baby items. Daryl pulled out the rizz and convinced us to buy some baby food for a taste test after dinner. We went back to Mindy's place to cook dinner and surprisingly their chemistry in the kitchen was immaculate! (and that is coming from two self proclaimed chefs!) The rest you could say is history! Mindy and Daryl spent the next 4 years together in the Italian Village / Pilsen area. We had many more outings with the SAC group and got to spend more time with our cousins who lived in the city. Daryl emotionally supported Mindy through residency, not just with hugs but also by helping with all the house chores! Mindy is spoiled now and hasn't done laundry in too long... It was bittersweet to leave Chicago, but Mindy and Daryl are practicing being homeowners in Columbus while Mindy finishes fellowship. Daryl now has the extra time and space for his various hobbies (there may not be any space left for Pokemon...) We can wait to celebrate this next chapter with you all! We are also excited to share a little bit of our cultures with you! Lets get pumped for a epic celebration of love!
