It all started in 2016 - Sarah had just moved to Austin, TX for a fresh start and Jason just happened to be in Dallas, TX for a work trip. Sarah, looking to make some 'local' friends downloaded this game app, similar to Candy Crush. Out of all odds, Jason had downloaded this random app too, right before traveling to Dallas (he lived in San Francisco, CA). So being in local range, Jason started a game and messaged Sarah. ✦ . 　⁺ 　 . ✦ . 　⁺ 　 . ✦ We played this game and messaged daily. It wasn't until after 8 MONTHS and the app crashing 2x, we finally exchanged numbers. Again, texting long paragraphs never running out of things to talk about, and talking every day multiple times a day...Never did we FaceTime or talk on the phone... (he could have been catfishing me, but as most know well, I'm good at my detective work) Meeting in person - 2.5 years LATER: In 2018, we finally got to meet in person. He booked a ticket from San Francisco to Austin Texas and we met at the airport for the first time. With Meeko in hand, I walked right up to him and it was a crazy rush of emotions for us both. We ended up talking and playing board games all night until about 5am. We had an undeniable connection and were just so in sync. ✦ . 　⁺ 　 . ✦ . 　⁺ 　 . ✦ After that, we were in a long-distance relationship, from Austin to San Francisco. Visiting each other when we could and taking trips together as well. He showed me around California and Napa Wine country and I showed him around Texas and the Austin scene. We went to multiple concerts and events and traveled to Honolulu, San Diego, Orlando, and Maui together over the years. ✦ . 　⁺ 　 . ✦ . 　⁺ 　 . ✦ 3 years into our long-distance relationship Jason finally made the decision to move to Austin. We built a little family here with our two fur babies, Meeko and Kali Rae, and continued to travel each year. In 2024 - we rang in the New Year as a newly engaged couple and almost 6 years together. It’s one of those relationships where you never run out of things to talk about, you are the same person and each other’s best friend.
