We met working at Calico Ghost Town together in late 2023. Our first interaction we had with each other was in our break room before we clocked in for work. Laura was crying having a hard morning when Darren walked in. He was feeling awkward when she was crying. "I'm sorry you have to see me like this." Laura managed to say to make him not feel so awkward. "It's okay, I was having a hard morning too." He says trying to lighten the mood. ` About a few weeks later, Laura and Darren are occasionally talking when one day she asks him for his number saying it was for "Work purposes" which was like half right. She texted him that night asking if she could hug him because she hugs all of her coworkers(which was also half right) which he then agreed. About a few days later, Laura and a few of their coworkers were going to have korean bbq together so she invited Darren to join them. On their way home after eating dinner together, Laura pretends to fall asleep and she lays on his shoulder the entire car ride home. ` A few more weeks later, Laura invites Darren to the movies to go watch The Marvels with their coworker and her husband. Once they were at the theater, Laura texts their coworker asking where they were since the movie was getting ready to start and to their surprise, the coworker tells them they can't make it tricking the two of them to go on their first date. After the movie was over and they were waiting on their rides, they get to talking and Laura confesses to Darren about liking him. Darren didn't process the confession yet as he went to the bathroom and realized Laura confessed. So, he walks back out and they get to talking more where he also confesses. ` Time passes to Thanksgiving morning when the two are talking and Darren asks Laura to be his girlfriend. Laura surprised and shocked by the question freaks out a tiny bit and ends up leaving him on read for 8 hours before she finally texted him back saying yes to be his girlfriend on November 23, 2023. ` Skipping to December 20, 2024 when they were hanging out with their friends and coworkers, Darren proposes to Laura but they kept it a secret until Darren formally asked Laura's Dad for her hand in marriage. Once he got the blessing to marry Laura, December 25, 2024 while they were at her parent's house, they finished opening gifts when Darren told Laura to help clean the wrapping paper up, she does so and is turned away from Darren picking up wrapping paper. She turns around to pick more up when she sees Darren on one knee proposing to her in front of all of her family where she of course says yes.
